Mr. Sushil Handa

Mr. Sushil Handa, who has been a serial entrepreneur, has inspired us with his vision, expertise and resources in the founding of Poiesis. He is a first generation entrepreneur with over four decades of experience of setting up and building businesses. Sushil's unique accomplishments have been creating new business models, building organisations, and achieving merit based successes.

He has successfully established global businesses and mentored young entrepreneurs. He has been the driving force behind success stories in the areas of Pharmaceuticals, Clinical Research & Genomics, Clean Energy, Food, Dairy & Agri Farming. These businesses enjoy significant worldwide presence, assets, people, investments and value creation.

He has encouraged a food start-up under the Brand Flourish, represented by the thought "Don't Just live!" Flourish's Aspiration is to enhance the quality of life & delight customers, as well as to enhance their wellness quotient, through innovative, natural, fresh & pure food products offering Super Nutrition & Taste.

Sushil has also encouraged social initiatives in the areas of inspiring young children, education, and social & professional institutional building. He frequently interacts with Poiesis children and imparts values by sharing experiences of being a leader and entrepreneur, through stimulating dialogues.

Mrs. Beena Handa, Founder Director and Head

An Alumnus of IIM-Ahmedabad, Ms. Beena Handa is a human resource development professional having a vast experience in the field of learning and development of individuals, organization building, and life-skills development of children. She has also been a faculty to various training programs for many organizations and a Visiting Faculty for over 7 years at IIM-Ahmedabad. She closely works with and guides parents and children for confidence and aspiration building as well as socio-emotional development.

After starting Poiesis, she has attended the course 'Project Zero Classroom 2009' at Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE), USA to learn more about learning and development of children. The program focused on Multiple Intelligences and different aspects of Teaching for Understanding framework. This has given her new insights for interacting with children and parents, and the process of learning through thinking. She has designed many in-person andvirtual programs and workshops for children, parents, and teachers.

Beena has conceptualized and implemented several programs and processes in the areas of communication, interpersonal behavior, people development, team building and culture building at Claris Lifesciences Ltd. Her endeavors for innovative programs and processes in the areas of HRM have been recognized by the National HRD Network, CII and have been part of books on innovative HR practices. She has been recognized by Divya Bhaskar as one of the 50 "Women of Substance" of Gujarat and also one of the 100 powerful contributors in the development of Gujarat. Ms. Puja Dixit, Talent Facilitator

Ms Puja Dixit is a young educationist with experience of teaching academic subjects to children. She also has experience of counseling parents and young students on career choices. At Poiesis, she interacts with parents for explaining the concepts like Achievement Motivation, experiential learning, program design, etc. She also contributes by ensuring execution of the programs as per plan and by being a friend to children.

Mr. Jaydeep Parmar, Talent Facilitator

Mr. Jaydeep Parmar is a post graduate in social welfare with experience of various facets of human resources management like selection, induction, learning and capability development of individuals and teams. He is using his exposure and knowledge of information technology in building systems at Poiesis. He believes in helping persons to realize their potentials and its sublimation. This makes him an empathetic and encouraging facilitator while interacting with children and a good listener with parents.

Ms. Rupal Jain, Talent Facilitator

Ms. Rupal Jain has a post-graduate degree in business management with experience of interface with students for career counseling and coaching as well as business planning & promotion in corporate sector. At Poiesis, she is involved in interacting with parents and explaining how the programs and processes can make a difference in children. She also plays the role of a talent facilitator by interacting with children and making them realize their potential.

Mr. Dharmesh Gajjar, Talent Facilitator

Mr. Dharmesh Gajjar is a post-graduate in Management with specialization in Human Resource Management. He has experience of talent identification for overseas assignment. This has helped him to be good in conversation, listening and logical thinking. At Poiesis, he combines his people skill and non-judgmental approach while meeting parents and children. He also plays the role of a patient and playful facilitator while being with children.

Expert Resource Persons

Dr. Kinjal Kubavat holds a doctorate in clinical psychology having focused on emotional and mental competency of adolescents under different family situations. She has also done her graduation in education along with masters in psychology. 

She has an experience of more than a decade in the areas of counseling parents, teachers and children in schools, with a social institution focusing on women development and as an independent practitioner. The long experience of dealing with people of different age groups and emotional dynamics has made her an active listener and empathetic person. At Poiesis, she engages children by making them feel and think about their emotions as well as behavior and helps them to work out ways to deal with emotions and relationships.

Ms. Sharmishtha Chakraborty is an educator, having experience of about fifteen years in various positions like a school teacher, curriculum developer, co-ordinator and Principal. She has a Masters degree in English Literature and has also studied in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE).

Her education and long experience has given her an insight into the learning process of children and their emotional well-being. It also helps her to build instant rapport with children and bring out their best in the classrooms. She has also worked closely with parents and counseled them on various developmental issues and parenting styles. At Poiesis, she interacts with children and makes them think about the success factors like habits, dealing with different emotional situations resiliently and inter-personal relations. She is also involved in session with parents.

Ms. Urvi Shah has been in the education field for more than a decade now. An avid blogger and writer, her journey in the field of education has traversed far and wide. She has taught in schools in Kerala, Vadodara, U.S.A and Ahmedabad where she was the head of school at Anand Niketan - Bodakdev campus for the past 7 years. A progressive educator, Ms. Urvi believes that life skills and a personal value system can empower children to be leaders for today and eventually be global citizens of tomorrow.

At Poiesis, she interacts with children in a very age-appropriate manner by incorporating poems, songs, stories, creative games to make them think about being systematic and responsible.

Jaya Vadhera, a Certified Happiness Growth Practitioner, a compassionate mother and a seasoned HR and Service Sector Professional having a rich experience of 31 years. She has a deep understanding of cultures and people as she has lived and worked across many states of India and UAE.

She works as a freelance language and life skills Coach offering customized modules in enhancing business communication for the executives, guides the students to kick-start their careers and mentors women & children to increase their creative thinking and writing skills along with theatrical workshops.

At Poiesis, she helps children of The Leader – One Step Ahead Program to overcome fear of public speaking and guides them in preparation and effective delivery of speech through her non-evaluative style, patience and encouragement.

Ms. Anjali Hardikar is an alumnus of TISS Mumbai and has been associated with the field of counselling for last 25 years. She has a wide experience of dealing with parents and students of different age groups on their socio – emotional needs and careers beyond school years..

She has contributed in several schools of Vadodara, Ahmedabad and at SN Kansagra, Rajkot. She has been instrumental in setting up school-wide systems and processes, creating training programs for teachers in managing the classrooms, working with students who need modifications due to their different learning abilities, conducting workshops for students on SEL and with parents on Being an effective parent.  At Poiesis she has been working with children on Understanding themselves, Emotions management and Being Assertive.

Devang Patel has done his Masters in Management (MBA) from Gujarat Universitywith a specialisation in Marketing.He is associated with Xcellon Institute as Faculty Incharge, School of Business.He is pursuing his Doctoral Studies in field of Relationship Marketing from the Dharamsinh Desai University, Nadiad, Gujarat.

He carries a cumulative experience of 19 years of teaching Entrepreneurship, Services Marketing and Organizational Behaviour at leading management institutions, along with research, training and consulting.He has attended around many faculty training programs in leading IIM's and written and published teaching cases and research articles in National Journals.

Devang loves to interact with young minds and widens their horizons.At Poiesis, he evokes children to think better by unique presentations, puzzles, offering challenging situations and orienting them to a few thinking frameworks.
